Accessibility Guidelines
Newton Prep is committed to providing an accessible and usable website for all its users. We appreciate that your needs are as individual as you are, and thus we have done our best to cater for you whilst complying with the most recent accessibility standards. This Website has been designed and built to adhere with the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI) guidelines, and includes many features that allow easier access for users with special requirements.
There are 2 website versions for your convenience - the Default site version, and a High Contrast, single-column layout version should you be using screen readers or enlarging the content to a very large text size.Text Size
There are numerous ways that you can change the size of your text to make it easier to read. They are:

Hold down the CTRL key and press the minus (-) and plus (+) keys to decrease and increase the size of your font. The CTRL key and then zero (0) is for normal-sizing.

If your mouse has a wheel, pressing CTRL and using the wheel on your mouse increases and decreases the text size on your screen.

On the Accessible Site Version, use the Larger text (A+) and Smaller text (A-) links at the top of the page.

To customise your browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape Navigator or similar) go to View, and then select Text Size. Alternatively use the processes below.
Operating System (OS) Text Re-sizing
Windows
- Internet Explorer 6+; Netscape 6+, and Opera
Go to 'View' menu> Text Size
- Mozilla Firefox 1+
Go to 'View' menu> Increase/Decrease Text Size
Mac
- Safari and Netscape 7+
Go to 'View' menu> Text Zoom - Mozilla Firefox 1+
Go to 'View' menu> Make Text Bigger/Smaller - Opera

Access Keys
The following Access Keys allow you to navigation the website with your keyboard as opposed to using a computer mouse. Different browsers require slightly different key combinations to use an access key. Below are instructions for a range of more popular browers.
Windows Users
If you are using Windows, hold down the Alt key and press the appropriate access key for the page you want to go to. Release the keys, then press Enter.
Mac Users
Alternatively, If you are using Mac hold down the Ctrl key and press the appropriate access key for the page you want to go to. Release the keys, then press Enter.

Clicking on documents on the Newton Prep Website (e.g. Word and PDFs and so on) will open them in a new window. Right clicking on the document icon will present the the option to save them to machine(s), or click on the link (document name) provided. RSS Feed
News feeds, (also known as 'RSS': Really Simple Syndication) allow you to see when websites have added new content. Just like any other subscription service, when you subscribe to Newton Prep News RSS as soon as it is published or updated, it will be sent automatically to your RSS reader for you to read at your convenience.
To subscribe
To subscribe to the Newton Prep News RSS feed click on the hyperlink or on the orange feed icon at the top right of the School website pages or via your RSS reader choosing which content you wish to receive.
Once information about an item is in RSS format, a RSS-aware program can check the feed for changes and react to them in an appropriate way.
